A Look at the Kypris Moonlight Catalyst & Antioxidant Dew

This has been a post I’ve been meaning to write for months now. I’ve been testing Kypris Moonlight Catalyst and Antioxidant Dew on and off since Christmas time and just can’t really put a finger on how I feel about them. I am about a 2/3 done with the Moonlight Catalyst and just reached a little more then half way with the Antioxidant Dew. So with that stated lets get into it… and why not just go ahead and start with the superficial. These are fucking beautiful looking. Big round of applause for who ever came up with the packaging. From the white boxes with silver details these come in to the midnight blue bottles with dreamy graphics, they really made me want these for that alone. Now the company itself is very natural with its ingredients but has a strong emphasis on green science with its formulations. They are known for using high quality ingredients, but at very high prices. Their products start in the mid 60’s and go all the way up to over …

New Beauty | A Look Inside My Mailbox

I am a self confessed beauty junkie. I get that itch when it’s been a while since something new has come across my metaphorical desk (still working on my home/office set up…) I’ve been super lucky lately and had a lot of stuff sent my way (as well as a few bits I picked up myself). So I thought why not give a bit of a run down on some of the things I’m jazzed to come my way recently. Makeup wise I was thrilled to hear from Axiology. They are a sustainable organic luxury lipstick brand that is committed to supporting environmental causes. The lipsticks are packaged in gorgeous golden pop out bullets, with highly pigmented colors inside. I received two of their top sellers: Worth, a warm autumn leaves orange red and Instinct a brown toned nude with a touch of sandcastle glitter. Speaking of glitter. I qualified for the new Influnetser voxbox in partnership with Marc Jacobs. They complementary sent over the new Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter.  It’s part of their expanded …

Give Back with W.ANT Skincare

Based in Singapore W.ANT Skincare makes a curated collection of skincare focused on non toxic and multi tasking products. They have a lovely mission statement of giving back, and of helping marginalised women in different countries. So with each purchase of W.ANT you are contributing to local communities of women in Bali, Indonesia and Benin, Africa. W.ANT also focuses on sustainability, they do not have any box packaging, instead the product comes in a hand woven reusable bag made using a Balinese traditional method. I was super happy to test out there Cleansing Trio of this newer brand that has such lovely ingredients and an ethos to match. The Beet This Honey Cleanser was my favorite product in the line up. I am a sucker for anything honey, so this was probably a sure thing from the get go. It is made with over 60% raw honey, and you can taste that. I’ve always found honey to be very soothing on my skin and great for break outs. I’ve been busting this cleanser out when my skin has …

Credo Comes to LA

Los Angeles’s busy West 3rd Street has landed it’s very own clean beauty emporium. Credo opened its first Los Angeles destination early February, joining the likes of Murad, Benefit, Aesop and Face Haus on the busy shopping stretch. Always on the hunt for the new thing, I stopped in at the new location a couple of weeks back to see the beautiful blue open air space for myself. It is a welcome shopping experience. Clean, crisp and well organized, it makes it easy to spot old favorites and find new discoveries. Skincare wise they carry classics like Indie Lee, Tata Harper and budget friendly Acure, along with up in comers like Susanne Kaufmann and Lilfox. And they have testers for everything! I booked a mini facial with the lovely Allison. She was refreshing, honest, had a passion for skincare and very soothing hands. The Mini Facials are a great opportunity to test out products you’ve had your eye on and discover new ones you might have never noticed. I really appreciated Allison’s candor when I was selecting products. …

December Favorites

I know a lot of us in the blog world forgo the December favorites in favor of a yearly round up post or video, but in November and December I tested out way more products than I normally do that I just couldn’t wait for my big 2016 beauty retrospective. I think face wise there is something in every category this go around from Foundation to Lips, there’s a bit of it all. I’ve got two new Holy Grail’s in there: the Heimish Artless Glow Base, and the Air Blush from Marc Jacobs (I fell for Flesh and Fantasy just like every one else, it really is the blush that goes with everything). I found it odd that I haven’t seen anyone else talking about the new Luminizing Drops from Algenist. They have an incredible glow, and Rose is such a unique but flattering lavender highlight. I also hit up a few sales to test out a some hyped up products that lucky weren’t duds, looking at you Artis Oval 6, you make my foundation look …

Discover Natural Beauty Brand URB Apothecary

Since I’m such a big natural beauty lover I get excited when I come across new sources. My latest find came via Instagram. When I was searching down some random skincare hashtag I came across URB Apothecary‘s stunning designs and alluring ingredients lists. The line was started by Leyna Allred in Northern California with the desire to reconnect with simple chemical free ingredients. The line reflects that with being free of parbens, preservatives, and chemical additives. Each product seems carefully crafted to include an ingredient list of powerful herbs and is cruelty free. Leyna was very generous and sent me both the Prickly Pear Elixir and the Cactus Face Polish. I’ve pretty much used them both all up and they are indeed stellar. The Prickly Pear Elixir is a gorgeous blend of Pomegranate, Rosehip and of course Prickly Pear. All three oils have high amounts of skin nourishing antioxidants, something I desperately need here in Los Angeles. I’ve been a huge fan of both Rosehip and Pomegranate oils and can now include Prickly Pear on that list as …

Nourish Your Skin with Brooklyn Based Skincare Line Lyeska

Recently, I’ve been super lucky to test out a number of amazing brands, one of my favorites has to be Brooklyn Based skincare line Lyeska. Centered around the richness of Siberian Cedar Nut Oil, Lyeska makes responsibly produced, all naturals product out of Brooklyn New York. The brand was founded by Russian born Katya Hegg. Katya grew up around the women in her family utilizing the ingredients found naturally in their gardens and forests to nourish their skin. I’ve been using the Moisturizing Facial Lotion and Facial Cleanser these past two months, and love the gentle hydrating formulas. Both products are packed with Siberian Cedar Nut Oil which contains strong amounts of Vitamin E and lots of essential fatty acids. The Facial Cleanser is rich in Vitamin A from plenty of Apple Extract and Rose Oil making it a great healer for aging or parched skin. It contains lots of antiseptic/anti acne ingredients like Burdock Root, Rosemary, Willow Bark and Blood Orange Extracts. And to calm the skin there is plenty of Aloe Vera and Calendula. This is a very …

A Sephora Haul From Ages Ago

Yup, The title is correct. I’ve got a Sephora Haul from way back in the summer, that I finally got around to filming mid September, and am just now uploading at the end of October. Can you tell I’ve got zero time management skills? I was given several Sephora gift cards for my Birthday back in August and put them to darn good use buying items I normally wouldn’t spend that much money on…. Ah, The glory of gift cards! I’ve had my eye on Korean Beauty brand Neogen Dermolagy for a while now, and got SUPER excited when I saw Sephora stocking an assortment of their items online. I opted for the Lemon Bio-Peel as my intro product to the range. I’m about out of my Pixi Glow Tonic and have been wanting to explore other acid toners. So far I’ve really been loving it. It’s great for hyper-pigmentation, and I had a few cystic type ass hats growing on my forehead that it helped kick to the curb. I think this is the beginning of a …

5 Things I’ve Been Loving Lately

I’m a bit of an over sharer. Now I don’t mean in the emotional, life story sense… usually a bit of a closed book in that regard. But when it comes to things I am passionate about whether that falls under advice or recommendations, I know I can come on a tad strong. I’ve fully witnessed, on several occasions, peoples eyes glaze over by the assault of information I was throwing at them. I’ve momentarily run out of people I know in real life to annoy with my current obsessions, so I’ve come to you! The Internet! Here are Five Things I just can’t shut up about lately! I’ve been wanting a new perfume in my rotation for a while, and while heading to my favorite coffee shop I took a small detour to the stand alone Diptyque shop near by and treated myself to a roller ball of Philosykos. I’m one of those annoying people that likes to celebrate their birthday all week long, so this small perfume was a perfect tiny present to gift myself. This …

Indie Alert: Organic Sheet Masks by Orgaid

If you’ve been following along with some of my previous posts on here or even my Instagrams, you might have noticed me mention (briefly) that I was doing the #30daysheetmaskchallenge. You haven’t heard TOO much about it from me because, well… It didn’t work out. In hindsight I should have known that trying out dozens of different products for a month straight would go terribly wrong. I think my skin just couldn’t handle the variety I was putting it through. Needless to say- I didn’t make it to 30 full days, probably just over 2 weeks. It wasn’t a completely waste though: I still got to test out some really interesting masks, discover new brands and have dozens stock piled for later occasions and posts. One brand I found pretty interesting is US based Organic sheet mask company Orgaid. Orgaid has three different masks, and I tested out one of each. I found them all to be pretty good, solid sheet masks, that all did a nice job of hydrating my skin. Like I mentioned, Orgaid is a …
