Trilogy Skincare: Organic Rosehip Oil, Cream Cleanser and Hydrating Toner

Well if it’s good enough for the future queen, then it should be good enough for me right?

When a super model, a princess and my favorite burlesque dancer all seem to dig the same oil, the annoying skincare obsessive inside me has to know what the fuss is about. I’ve tested out some products from the New Zealand Skincare brand Trilogy over the last few months and have been loving this Rosehip based line.

Trilogy was founded by two sisters, Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot, nearly fifteen years ago. This natural, organic, and eco friendly line, based around the powerhouse that is Rosehip Oil, has some of the most awarded oils on the market.

Trilogy Cream Cleanser Hydrating Mist Toner

Rosehip is definitely having a bit of a heyday right now. I think it swooped in some time last year and stole the crown off of Argan Oil’s head.

It’s packed with anti-oxidants, Omegas (6, 7, & 9) and loaded with Vitamin A; a powerhouse all on its own. Vitamin A is known to increase collagen, help fight acne, and fortify the skin. All great things, especially for those concerned with free radicals and anti-aging!

Trilogy Cream Cleanser

Trilogy’s Cream Cleanser is a lovely, gentle blend of Rosehip and antioxidant rich Carrot and Evening Primrose Oils. It contains some lovely healers: Jojoba, Chamomile and Aloe Vera, all great at calming irritated skin and helping along the recovery process.

Bitter Orange and Rosemary are both great at combating bacteria, and cleansing the skin; adding an anti acne benefit. All around the mix on this guy should be good for all skin types, especially dehydrated. They do offer a sensitive version as well. (TrilogyAmazon, Feel Unique)

I adored using this cleanser all year round, but found it particularly shined during winter months or in dryer climates. It is best applied to dry skin, but I did find it effective used wet as well. If you like Pai’s Camellia and Rose Hydrating Cleanser I think this is a great similar alternative to try. Plus the scent is outstanding.

It’s a good all around cleanser, and does a decent job removing makeup. I think with this sort of ingredient list you’ll get the best bang for your buck using it as a morning or second cleanse. I mostly use this as my morning cleanse, with all it’s vitamins and antioxidants, it helps prep my skin to fight the free radicals of the day. (Trilogy, Amazon, Feel Unique)

Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner

I don’t understand how such a simple misting toner can smell so intoxicating.

Trilogy’s Hydrating Mist Toner is a bouquet of Lavender, Geranium and Rose. This blend of essential oils helps heal, calm and hydrate the skin. Lavender in particular is a great antiseptic, making it perfect in a toner.

After I cleanse or have applied an acid toner, I spritz this guy all over my face and chest. It gives a quick boost of hydration after my skin has been cleansed and preps any oil, serum or essence applied after to absorb even better.

I am nearly out of this guy right now, with less then a weeks worth left. I need to get through a few toners and mists I am set to review next, but I definitely can’t wait to come back to this uniquely exotic spray. (Trilogy, Amazon, Feel Unique)

Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil

I’ve had a lot of people ask me skincare questions lately, especially when it comes to anti aging or just an all around good product to incorporate into their routine. One thing I always point them to is Rosehip Oil (and also this awesome moisturizer from ShiKai). Trilogy’s Organic Rosehip Oil is the best I have come across so far.

It absorbs faster then any other Rosehip oil variety I have sampled and leaves my skin hydrated for hours. You can get away with only a few drops, and if you find it’s feeling greasy you’ve probably used to much.

It’s a perfect oil for someone in a big city or who spends a lot of time in the sun. The antioxidant rich oil is essential for anyone dealing with free radicals and/or pollutants.

I’ve found a big difference using this oil both night and day, resulting in a smoother complexion. It has aided in the healing of any spots I’ve been suffering with, and helps to lighten any lingering hyper-pigmentation. This summer I‘ve loved layering this oil under a light moisturizer like Tidal by Sunday Riley or a new one by Peora. (Trilogy, Amazon, Feel Unique)

Trilogy products are some of the best I’ve come across this year and I can’t wait to test out more from this line! Have you tried anything out from Trilogy you loved or hated?

The Week End | Demogorgon’s, K-Beauty, and Marriage

Life. I can’t believe it’s already been over a month since I got married. We just got our wedding photos and they are everything we could have wanted. If you’re shopping for a wedding photographer, hire Anna Zajac, then invite me so I can hang with her again. Oh and Europe! We went! I just want to groundhog day all of June and July!

Eat. Jeff and I ate our way through Paris, Bordeaux and Barcelona. We averaged walking four miles a day, if not more, so nothing stuck to our sides for long. We spent a good chunk of our budget eating well. A few highlights were Seb’on, KB Coffee, El Quim, and Capperi. We also brought back some amazing wines!

Watch. As soon as we got back state side we caught wind of Stranger Things. It’s soooo worth the hype guys! Just such a wonderful mash up of so many things I adored growing up. I’ve also been diving into Korean beauty and all its intriguing and innovative products. I’ve been crash coursing by binge watching all of Gothamista‘s videos. Definitely my favorite Youtuber right now!

Health. Now that the wedding and honeymoon is over I’m pouring all my focus into my career and health. I finally signed up for Class Pass. Got in when they had a special going on. So far I’ve been hitting up Rise Nation and Cycle House. I don’t hate it. Also I’ve been enjoying the addition of Maca Powder and Bee Pollen in my morning smoothies!

Art. I’ve been on a home decoration kick for a while: I love filling our home with unique, and hand crafted items. For our wedding we got some amazing prints from some awesome artists. I love Strange Dirt’s designs and am so happy to have one of her pieces in our home now. You should really follow her on Instagram!  Thanks Sam!

Shopping List | Cult French Beauty Brand Bourjois Paris

I’ve really only been traveling down the beauty community rabbit hole for about a year now. One brand that kept popping out at me on this journey was Bourjois Paris. Now owned by Chanel, this brand got its start way back in the 1800’s as stage makeup during a booming time in theatre. It’s rumored this line is similar if not the same as Chanel’s cosmetics line (they are made in the same factories) but I haven’t tried much Chanel so I can’t compare.

This drugstore priced French makeup line is all over youtube, beauty blogs and social media… but just not on our shelves here in the States. Annoying I know. Nothing makes you want something more then when you just. can’t. get. it. Well I could, sorta. Through online retailers like Amazon, lookfantasic and ASOS… but I hate purchasing makeup online that I have not seen in person first. I wanna know what I am getting myself into. So when my fiance Husband (still getting used to that!) and I made the decision to head to Paris for a portion of our honeymoon, I knew I had to seek this brand out while I was there.

When I got to the stand alone store on the Right Bank I went a little ham. I was given the excuse to because: A. I can’t get this shit at home and B. EVERYTHING WAS ON SALE.

Bourjois Paris Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick 09 Happy Nude Year 08 Grand Cru 02 Flambourjois OverheadI held myself back on only getting three of the Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks (they were 40% off!). These creamy pigmented lipsticks dry to a gorgeous matte finish that is not at all drying. They wear off fairly evenly, and when they are long gone have left your lips with a beautiful stain. They smell like Kool Aid packets and I, surprisingly, don’t mind that. It’s nostalgic.

I picked up an almost blood like pinky red that will be great for fall (08 Grand Cru), a popsicle pink shade (02 Frambourjois), and a lovely pink candy nude (09 Happy Nude Year) both perfect for summer. (ASOS, Amazon, LookFantastic, FeelUnique

Bourjois Paris Java PowderBourjois Paros Jave Rice Loose Powder

The Loose Rice Java Powder comes in a lovely throw back case, I believe similar to their original packaging (except for the plastic) from over a hundred years ago.

This powder has a radiant shimmer that gives almost a candle light soft focus effect as a finishing powder. The particles are larger than the Hourglass powders, but it has a similar looking blurring effect to me. It’s got a pretty, vintage rose smell that doesn’t linger for too long. (ASOS, Amazon)

Bourjois Paris Volume Glamour Ultra Curl Mascara

I was not planning on purchasing mascara on this trip since I have a few samples I need to get through first at home, but the mascara I brought along with me to Paris quickly dried out, and kept flaking on me all day. No Fun. I’m glad I picked this guy up because it’s my new favorite mascara.  True to it’s name, The Volume Glamour Ultra Curl Mascara, does indeed create a lot of volume and curl. It leaves a sort of big lashes, but not falsies look. (Amazon, Priceline, Overstock)

Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum and Powder

The Healthy Balance Powder and Mix Serum Foundation have some what of a cult like following. Anything with such a loyal devotion has my interest. The Healthy Mix Gel Serum Foundation seems to be in most every Youtubers top foundations picks. So of course like the little lemming I am, this was the item I knew i had to get. I really wanted to know what all the hype was about.

I picked it up in 51 Vanilla Clair which is a tad yellow on me, but nothing i can;t blend out. It does have a lovely healthy looking, hydrating finish on the face. I’ve been more interested in tinted moisturizers and BB creams lately since It’s summer, but I can see myself falling in with the herd on this one come winter time. OH, and this guy was 50% off when I went in. CRAZY. (ASOS, Amazon, FeelUnique, LookFantastic)

Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder Compact

The Healthy Balance Powder (in 52 Vanilla), on the other hand, has been on my face nearly every day since I got it. It’s got a matte finish that doesn’t cake up. It’s made with different fruit extracts to help minimize shine and hydrate the skin. It has a surprisingly fine in texture for a drugstore priced powder. The only catch is that it has no brush (or room for one) which makes it not so great for carting around. (ASOS, Amazon)

Bourjois Paris 74 Rose Ambre Blush PowderBourjois Paris 74 Rose Ambre Blush Powder Compact Pot

I was suckered in by the 40% off sticker on the Little Round Pot Blusher in 74 Rose Ambre. And I’m not sorry. I would call this a mature rose blusher. But I, in know way, imply old with that statement.

I’ve been religiously wearing Mocha Havana by Lancome for the past few weeks but started rotating it out or mixing it in with Rose Ambre by Bourjois. It gives me a flushed looking cheeks that blend well into bronzer. Trying my damnedest to look a bit tan. Last summer I was rocking by Pink Pop by Clinique, a bright coral color on me that I still adore, but I’ve been roped into the browny neutral lip trend everyone’s been into and this blush pairs perfectly with that nineties pout. (Priceline, Amazon)

I really wanted to check out some Kiko cosmetics while I was in Europe but each time I found a store it was so crowded. I couldn’t handle that type of shopping pressure again after making my way though City-pharma (which was worth it… but taxing). Any gems from Bourjois I missed? I’ve heard great things about their liquid blushers and concealers? Do I need to fly back already?Bourjouis Paris Rogue Velvet Lipstick Glamour Mascara Healthy Mix Serum Java Powder Rose Blush pot

John Masters Skincare Vitamin C Serum was one of the first anti-aging products I invested money on. It’s also one of the best priced Vitamin C serums I’ve seen, and most effective! Get your glow on here, and here. Trilogy’s Organic Rosehip Oil has been a staple in my evening routine lately, actually a bunch of Trilogy products have been (review to come)! 9 Tips and Tricks for Managing Menstruation

I swear my physical self awareness (and let’s be honest, emotional as well) abilities in my teens and early twenties were just non existent. It wasn’t until a few years back that I finally started putting my physical puzzles pieces together, and realized what was and wasn’t servicing me.

When I would get my period I would abuse my body with an excess of pain killers and just pretend it wasn’t happening to me. I wouldn’t work with my body or listen to what it needed. I think this was not only due to my lack of awareness but also a societal thing I grew up around: That periods are to be kept secret, that they are disgusting, and shameful.

I’m so happy I grew out of that way of thinking about my body. Eventually I took the steps to work with my body during this time when it requires, and deserves my attention. I’ve gathered a few tricks over the years that have made my period a much more manageable time in my life and hope maybe some of them can be of service to you too!

#1. Create a Calendar.

I’ve gotten into the habit of marking my periods on my calendar from start to end date. I’ve done this for the last few years and it’s been a big help, especially when it comes to making vacation or event plans.

I think it’s important to share this calendar with your partner. I’ve been sharing it with my husband for as long as I’ve been steadily keeping it. If it’s apart of my life, then it’s apart of his. This helps him to be a more helpful partner to me both physically and emotionally. This also helps manage his own sexual expectations during that time. As I’ve gotten older my periods have become much less irregular but they still don’t always adhere to a strict 28 day cycle. That’s where my next tip comes in.

#2. Figure Out Your Tell Signs.

Tell signs, I have a million. They’re both physical and emotional indicators that your period is coming. This biggest one I’ve uncovered is that exactly one week before my period and for just about 24 hours I have an intense, nothing is going right, extremely emotional, rollercoaster of a day. I call this the PMDD day. For years I thought it was a much larger, depression related issue until I put the puzzle pieces together and realized it happened like clock work before my period. I now set a marker in my calendar for the day(s) I think it might fall on for the upcoming month, this way both my husband and I can be prepared for it. (Less drama, more awareness!)

Besides emotional markers I have a slew of physical ones: From breast inflammation, back pain, dietary cravings, digestion issues to even stool changes. I’ve learned to recognize the effects my body is undertaking to prepare for my monthly menstruation.

#3. Get Prepared.

I try my damnedest to alway be stocked with my preferred type of tampons, make sure I’ve properly sanitized my menstrual cup and am stocked on my favorite herbs and teas I want to use. If I have my wits about me I’ll even start taking my preferred herbs a few days before my period arrives, this helps a ton!

I also make it a priority to have my favorite underwear and sweatpants freshly laundered, as well as a batch of cookie dough waiting for me when I need it. I’ve made this amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe from Smitten Kitchen at least a dozen times now to get me though those rough couple of days. This is also a silver lining for my husband. He fucking loves these cookies.

#4. Make a Plan.

Now maybe this could have been wrapped up in tip #3 but I think it’s important enough to stand on it’s own! I think it is a good idea to make a game plan on your period days. On heavy days, like the first two, I like to have a map for getting through the day. This includes the right amount of tampons, feminine wipes and pain medication I’ve packed in my purse, to even the type of activities I’ll be doing.

If I am using a Menstrual Cup I do not like being away from the house for too long. It’s just a personal preference but I hate changing it in public restrooms. If I have to do so, I make sure it’s a single occupant bathroom with a sink. And a nice one. No fucking dirty gas station bathrooms for me thank you very much. But if a good bathroom is a gamble, it’s great to keep a water bottle and baby wipes with you.

I also like to set an alarm to wake up in the middle of the night to make a tampon change, or make sure there is no cup spillage. I am planning on testing out the new period panties that I’ve been seeing ads for, so hopefully I can eliminate this step in the future! I’d like to sleep sheets-worry free. But for now, when I remember to set my alarm, it’s worked like a charm.

#5. Find Constructive Ways of Dealing With Pain.

For years I abused my body by downing an abundance of pills to numb the pain. Eventually my stomach lining took a toll, and indigestion became an issue. I’ve successfully experimented with a number of herbs over the last year that have helped more than just regular pain killers ever did, and with fewer side effects.

Herbs have helped not only with the pain of cramps and back aches, but also helped ease inflammation, stabilize moods and even shorten the length and intensity of my period. A few staples for me are: Black Cohosh, Wild Yam, Red Raspberry and Evening Primrose pills. Tinctures of Lemon Balm and St Johns Wart have helped my mood, as well as Yarrow for reducing the blood flow. I also love brewing Red Raspberry tea and carting it around with me all day.

Heating pads, and long showers are also big in my house. The warmth is soothing to the pain and also my mood. Exercise, at least light exercise, along with stretching is a big helper as well. Oh and NAPS! God bless a good nap!

#6. Don’t let it Stand in Your Way!

Now part of me just wants to lock myself a way for those first few days and honestly, sometimes, that’s just what I need to do. But I have to say, getting out there is a great way to keep your mind off of the pain and discomfort. I sometimes need the physical and mental distraction from my period.

I try to keep plans, maintain my work schedule, continue working out and just generally enjoying my day. Sadly the world doesn’t stop for my period, and is not very accommodating to it either, so I try my best to work with my period to go about my day instead of giving up or becoming resentful. At the same time it is important to give yourself a break….

#7. Set Aside Personal Time.

This is big for me, and I don’t always take it. In contrast with my last tip, it’s important to set aside some personal time during your period. Your body is under going a lot right now, and it’s not easy. Use this time to be reflective, get more in tune with your body, rest and even pamper yourself. Enjoy a proper veg out. Watch some shows! Binge on crazy beauty tutorials. Multi mask to your hearts content (I’m sure your pimpled skin could use it about now…) and eat your body weight in cookie dough. In other words, just indulge in some selfishness. It’s nice.

#8. Respect Your Period as Something to Invest in.

I know it’s not always economically sound for some folks, but getting your body what it deserves is important. It’s not cheap to buy good herbs, Menstrual cups or organic tampons. I used to buy the cheapest tampons on the shelf, but as soon as I could afford, and made the decision to, I made a point to get the natural organic ones I like.

Also it takes some effort and time to figure out your Tell Signs, get in tune with what you need and plan around it. But to me it’s important to invest in something that is apart of my life and give it respect. My body deserves it.

#9 Have Compassion for Yourself.

Now shame is something I am still working on, and it comes and goes for me. I still have accidents, and will have dozens more in my life time. I have to remember to forgive myself for these messy times and release the sense of shame that has been ingrained in me about my period.

Society has really done a number on us women and our bodies, and period shame is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a weird sense I’ve always had to cover it up, and act like I never have one, as if having a period makes me weak. This is still my toughest tip to take myself. I know shame, guilt or any other negative emotion is something I should disassociate with in regards to my period. This is my body functioning as it should, and bodies are messy. As they are supposed to be.

Ladies! Any tips you have or routines you keep when dealing with your period? I’d love to know what are some things you always do to get you through?

Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley: Soothing, Brightening, and Deep Moisture

Sheet masks guys. I remember being skeptical of them when I saw them pop up a few year back, but this was long before my interest in beauty and skincare really took flight, when even moisturizer was a bit of a mystery to me. Now a few years later sheet masks have become a staple for myself and the industry. You know something has reached staple status when not only every luxury brand has their own, but places like CVS have dedicated shelfs to them. I’ve tried a good amount by now, but lets be honest, that’s not even scratching the surface. There are probably more types of sheet masks out there then wine at this point.

I like picking up sheet masks as my introductory product to a new line. I think it gives a good, low commitment and economical way of testing the waters of a new range. Recently I’ve found myself a new favorite this way. Farmacy, a newer natural brand carried by Sephora that centers it line around a new found strain of Echinacea, has launched a lovely collection of powerfully performing masks.

Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley Soothing Brightening Deep Moisture Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask

I grabbed the Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley so I could sample half of the 6 masks they offer. The set includes a Brightening, Soothing and a Deep Moisture coconut gel masks. As I mentioned above Farmacy is a natural product line, the core of it revolving around a new found strain of echinacea. The herbal enthusiast in me interest was of course peaked. Echinacea is pretty big in the natural remedy world, hands down one of the most massively recognizable herbal cold remedies out there. I haven’t seen it too often in beauty products, but it’s got some similar healing properties to the skin as it does to the immune system.

Supposedly the new found strain is much more effective then the already effective plant, being even more loaded with antioxidants, making it an even greater skin healer, and age fighter. Echinacea is known to help heal and fight acne, It’s anti inflammatory, bringing down irritation and swelling, as well as possessing some anti bacteria components. It’s rich in tannins, and helps cell turnover which makes it great for smoothing the skin and creating a more youthful looking complexion. It’s been used for years to treat burns and help heal skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, so naturally it would and should find itself into the beauty world.

The masks are of the Coconut gel variety, which although makes them extra goopy to use, starts them off with a great base of moisture. I’m a lover of coconut in all types of products, I even love using coconut oil straight from the jar as a hair mask. Coconut is full of Vitamin E, proteins, moisturizing components and anti aging properties. I’ve heard the coconut gel textures helps keep active ingredients potent for longer, but I’m no sheet mask maker. The masks all contain a bevy of great things like propolis, Hyaluronic acid, and collagen. Also making an appearance is glycerin and castor oil, along with olive oil appearing in the Hydrating and Brightening ones.

Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley Soothing Brightening Deep Moisture Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask 2

Now all the masks contain Echinacea but each also has a headlining ingredient to go with the Title and it’s titular purpose. Deep Moisture’s star ingredient is Cucumber. Rich in Vitamin C and silica, cucumber is great at moisturizing the skin and creating a brighter complexion. Ascorbic acid and caffeic acid in cucumber make it great at helping the body retain that moisture. Deep Moisture also has some other fun ingredients on its list like Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging ingredient.

Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley Soothing Brightening Deep Moisture Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask 3

Soothing is centered around the use of Kale, which we already know this trendy green is good for us to eat! Kale is high in Vitamins like C and A, and antioxidants. Vitamin A is similar to retinol, so it helps with cell turnover, and vitamin c helps create collagen and protect agains sun damage. Kale is also known to contain skin friendly copper, a pigment that helps protect against the sun, create collagen production, and calm inflamed skin. Soothing also has Wild Thyme Extract which is anti bacterial. I’ve actually read a few natural bloggers that used DIY thyme infused toner to fight acne, definitely something I will be testing out in the near future!

Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley Soothing Brightening Deep Moisture Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask 1

Last one I tested out was Brightening with its key ingredient being Purple Broccoli. Broccoli is a fun ingredient for me to see in skin care, as it doesn’t make it on to branding often. Broccoli has got a lot of vitamins and antioxidants present in it. It also has a ton of anti inflammatory properties which is what Farmacy is claiming to be the brightening agent in this one, helping the skin fight to much melanin (the stuff that makes us tan). Sage pops up a the ingredient list on this mask, although near the end, but its inclusion is nice to see for it has anti aging, clarifying and toning abilities.

I found these all performed very well on my skin, they were extremely hydrating, calming, and brightening to my complexion. My only complaint was the sense of redundancy I felt from the Clear Day Mask Medley kit, not only did the masks have a bunch of similarly performing ingredients but I noticed no difference between the masks in terms of results, so as far as I know they could just be the same mask with a different picture on the package. Some people might have an issue with the added fragrance in the masks, and the presence of alcohol in the Brightening one, but my usually sensitive skin was not reactive at all. I do plan on buying more of these guys in the future. The dewy, luxurious feel it gives to the skin it very satisfying. I also liked saving the extra serum at the bottom of the packet in the fridge and using it for the days that followed, giving a little more milage to the product.

Farmacy is a super intriguing brand to me, and I’m eager to get my hands on their Setting Spray and Cleansing Oil to test out next or maybe I’ll just go ham and spring for this trial kit! Let me know if you have any mask recommendations for me! I love trying new ones all the time, and I’d love to know your thoughts on any Farmacy products if you’ve tried any!

LA BEAUTY | Nails, Eyebrows, and Korean Spas

You really have the pick of the litter here in LA when it comes to Beauty! This city is packed with nail salons, beauty stores, dry bars, tanning salons, estheticians, colorists, and spas of all kinds. For all price points! If you are into it, LA’s got it, in spades. Here starts my inaugural LA Beauty Favorites post!

LA BEAUTY Benefit Brow Bar

When it comes to eyebrows, the Benefit store on Third Street is my favorite. I think almost all the staff has waxed this brow of mine by this point. I’ve been going there for years. I’ve deviated a few times to test out other places but I always end up back there. They do a great brow wax, thread, and lash or eyebrow tint. They are good about walk ins, but I also like the ease of their online booking system. The staff there is great fun. Benefit is a pink colored eyebrow mecca.

LA BEAUTY Yen's Nails

It is crazy the amount of nail salons there are in LA. And I have been disappoint by dozens. My current favorite is Yen’s Nails, also on Third Street. This small boutique salon is one of the prettiest and cleanest I have stepped into. I love the fact that they have a smaller selection of great and high quality colors, I seriously get overwhelmed by too many choices. All the staff does an amazing job, but if you are lucky to get Yen herself, you will be extra pleased. They also have pretty great pricing. You can get a gel set for only $26!

My other go-to Nail Salon is Pampered Hands. This place has to mentioned, it’s like a beauty institution here in LA. Nestled next to a shitty taco place on Melrose, they have an un godly amount of colors. They can get pretty expensive, especially with a gel polish starting at $40! They do have a frequent customer card, but it can only be cashed in for a basic manicure. I love all the fun free amenities they offer, like quick neck messages, a plethora of snack bowls and even boba tea! This place is not the most relaxing, but my god you can eavesdrop on some amazing conversations and do some incredible people watching. This is the knock off Kardashian watering hole! I once overheard a girl giving prostitution tips for moving to Vegas. 🙂 Love this place.

LA BEAUTY Olympic Spa Korean Spa

If someone asked me to name my top 5 favorite things about LA, Korean Spas would for sure make that list. We are so blessed in LA with these inexpensive indulgent places. I’ve been to a couple over the years, but keep coming back to Olympic Spa. For $20 you can hang out here all day and enjoy the different pools, saunas and rooms. My personal favorites are the Mugwort pool and Himalayan Salt room. I was nervous at first about the idea of hanging out naked in the presence of other women, but I got over it really quickly! It’s actually really nice and sorta comforting being around so many women of different shapes, backgrounds and ages. Everyone is just here to relax.

The food here is also great and they use some lovely products in their services! (Like Darphin!) I love splurging on the Goddess Treatment or a basic foot rub when I can. I’ve gotten the Facial here, but would not recommend it, too rough (But I’ll talk more about that in another post!). Stick to the massages, and body scrubs! The Week End | White Trash, Bachelor Parties, and G.O.T

The Life. Wedding planning is in full force. We are 6 weeks out from the big day (trying to stay sane here folks!!) Jeff and I just got back from a joint Bachelor/ette party in Seattle. Friends and family joined us for three days of good drinks and great eats. Highlights were Revel, Hotel Albatross, Glo’s Cafe and the Ballard Farmers Market. #bachelaureff

The Read. I signed up for theSkimm about a month back and it’s been an awesome way to stay current on current events. If you like knowing whats going on but don’t have the time or energy to keep up with it all then this is for you!

The Watch. It’s been a revolving door of great TV lately. All caught up on Better Call Saul, Daredevil, and Broad City. I’m now currently fixing my eyeballs on Game of Thrones and The Night Manger. Also got myself a new comedy love on youtube. The White Trash Network (I know, hate the name too), these short videos will have you in stitches. Start with these two, here and here.

The Medium. New favorite pandora station in the mix based on Todd Terje. Funky, Housey, and Worldly all in one. Awesome soundtrack for getting shit done. Been expanding my social media like a mofo. I’m on the snapchat now (mytwopence), got my youtube channel going (bunch of videos on the horizon!) and I’ve been putting a bunch of effort on upping my Instagram game (and finally posting my ItalyThailand travel pics!). Send me your handles! Lets follow each other!

The Buy. Anxiously waiting for my Anna and Lily Cult Beauty Box to arrive. Never ordered from Cult Beauty before, and was pleasantly surprised that I got a discount for my first purchase! (made the box more of a redeemable purchase) Also just reordered some of my favorite sheet masks from Karuna to help keep my skin calm during all this wedding shizz. I’ve got a $20 off referral code if anyone wants to try these great guys!

What’s been the highlights of your week? Let me know below!!

Shopping List | April Beauty

All of March I was on a self imposed spending ban, so when the clock finally struck April I went a little crazy. Since I’m getting myself into the youtube scene, I decided to make a Haul vid (typical I KNOW), talking about all the shit I picked up! Love it if you Subscribed! Also, I joined the masses and finally got myself on Snapchat this past month (had to have some one much younger than me give me a tutorial on how to use it… #old) I’m under mytwopence. easy peasy.

Favorites | April

Here we go again guys! Another month has gone by, so another favorites post and video is due! I was pleasantly surprised that the majority of my April favorites are bargain buys! NEAT. May is already shaping up to be a great month, already a bunch of new products in, adventures documented and DIYs ready to be made, so make sure you are subscribed to my channel! Lots of shit coming your way!

This past month I experimented with contouring for the first time. I pick up the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette, and the new Contour Brush from E.L.F. Both made this total noob get better faster, with out breaking the bank on practice shots.

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser Elf Contour Brush

I’ve been slowly trying out the Glossier product range, and the Milky Jelly Cleanser is definitely my favorite out of the bunch. It’s a nice mild cleanser, that does a nice job of cleaning the skin with out drying you out. Expect a full Glossier post in the very near future.

NYX soft matte lip cream san paulo

Gotta give a hand to NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. Nice formula and an even better price. Just make sure you exfoliant your lips on the regular so they don’t pill up. San Paulo is my new favorite pop of color for the spring.

OGX Hair Butter

I really loved this Hair Butter from OGX this past month. I used it like a hair mask, and it definitely made a difference on my stressed out strands. It performed up there with some higher priced masks. Win Win.

Origins Drink up mask

Between flying and getting sick my skin was looking pretty damn dehydrated. This little mini of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask was a big helper in bringing back a sense of balance to my skin and evict some of the dry flaky patches that were taking residence.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist is fast becoming a skincare staple for me along with the Glow Tonic. I wont blab on about it to much since I already did that here. But let’s just say I’ve already got a back up on the way!

Kim Dulaney Necklace

Fashion wise I fell back in love with this Necklace by Kim Dulaney. I got it nearly 2 years ago, but putting together more spring outfits, re busted it out. I love the unique design and something extra it gives more basic outfits. Check out her Etsy store!

Another fashion favorite that didn’t make it into the pictures (but you can see in the video!) is the Muralist Jumpsuit by Madewell. I’ve been living in this thing for the last month! I want a wardrobe of jumpsuits! Well that wraps up all my favorites from April! Love to know if you’ve tried any of these guys, and what were some stand outs for you last month!
