Trilogy Skincare: Organic Rosehip Oil, Cream Cleanser and Hydrating Toner

Well if it’s good enough for the future queen, then it should be good enough for me right? When a super model, a princess and my favorite burlesque dancer all seem to dig the same oil, the annoying skincare obsessive inside me has to know what the fuss is about. I’ve tested out some products from the New Zealand Skincare brand Trilogy over the last few months and have been loving this Rosehip based line. Trilogy was founded by two sisters, Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot, nearly fifteen years ago. This natural, organic, and eco friendly line, based around the powerhouse that is Rosehip Oil, has some of the most awarded oils on the market. Rosehip is definitely having a bit of a heyday right now. I think it swooped in some time last year and stole the crown off of Argan Oil’s head. It’s packed with anti-oxidants, Omegas (6, 7, & 9) and loaded with Vitamin A; a powerhouse all on its own. Vitamin A is known to increase collagen, help fight acne, and fortify the …

The Week End | Demogorgon’s, K-Beauty, and Marriage

Life. I can’t believe it’s already been over a month since I got married. We just got our wedding photos and they are everything we could have wanted. If you’re shopping for a wedding photographer, hire Anna Zajac, then invite me so I can hang with her again. Oh and Europe! We went! I just want to groundhog day all of June and July! Eat. Jeff and I ate our way through Paris, Bordeaux and Barcelona. We averaged walking four miles a day, if not more, so nothing stuck to our sides for long. We spent a good chunk of our budget eating well. A few highlights were Seb’on, KB Coffee, El Quim, and Capperi. We also brought back some amazing wines! Watch. As soon as we got back state side we caught wind of Stranger Things. It’s soooo worth the hype guys! Just such a wonderful mash up of so many things I adored growing up. I’ve also been diving into Korean beauty and all its intriguing and innovative products. I’ve been crash coursing …

Shopping List | Cult French Beauty Brand Bourjois Paris

I’ve really only been traveling down the beauty community rabbit hole for about a year now. One brand that kept popping out at me on this journey was Bourjois Paris. Now owned by Chanel, this brand got its start way back in the 1800’s as stage makeup during a booming time in theatre. It’s rumored this line is similar if not the same as Chanel’s cosmetics line (they are made in the same factories) but I haven’t tried much Chanel so I can’t compare. This drugstore priced French makeup line is all over youtube, beauty blogs and social media… but just not on our shelves here in the States. Annoying I know. Nothing makes you want something more then when you just. can’t. get. it. Well I could, sorta. Through online retailers like Amazon, lookfantasic and ASOS… but I hate purchasing makeup online that I have not seen in person first. I wanna know what I am getting myself into. So when my fiance Husband (still getting used to that!) and I made the decision to head …

Shopping List | Whole Foods Beauty

Oh Whole Foods, how I bitter sweetly love you. I long for the day I can shop you and not feel the bite of my credit card after. Luckily for me, and well, YOU, Whole Foods’ beauty section is some how (mostly) spared from its normal aspirational pricing. I have found some darn right steals living on its shelves! Here are 7 of my current favorite skincare gems to buy from Whole Foods! Now unfortunately Whole Foods does not have an online retailer for their beauty stock, which they really really should! So for those interested and don’t have a Whole Foods available to them I included a couple link options for each item! I tried to include links that had similar pricing to what I payed at Whole Foods! This is a great, INTENSE, clay mask. I actually prefer to save this one for my back and chest area which are prone to congestion and black heads. I love how Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay really just pulls everything out, you will be red, …

9 Tips and Tricks for Managing Menstruation

I swear my physical self awareness (and let’s be honest, emotional as well) abilities in my teens and early twenties were just non existent. It wasn’t until a few years back that I finally started putting my physical puzzles pieces together, and realized what was and wasn’t servicing me. When I would get my period I would abuse my body with an excess of pain killers and just pretend it wasn’t happening to me. I wouldn’t work with my body or listen to what it needed. I think this was not only due to my lack of awareness but also a societal thing I grew up around: That periods are to be kept secret, that they are disgusting, and shameful. I’m so happy I grew out of that way of thinking about my body. Eventually I took the steps to work with my body during this time when it requires, and deserves my attention. I’ve gathered a few tricks over the years that have made my period a much more manageable time in my life and …

Farmacy Clear Day Mask Medley: Soothing, Brightening, and Deep Moisture

Sheet masks guys. I remember being skeptical of them when I saw them pop up a few year back, but this was long before my interest in beauty and skincare really took flight, when even moisturizer was a bit of a mystery to me. Now a few years later sheet masks have become a staple for myself and the industry. You know something has reached staple status when not only every luxury brand has their own, but places like CVS have dedicated shelfs to them. I’ve tried a good amount by now, but lets be honest, that’s not even scratching the surface. There are probably more types of sheet masks out there then wine at this point. I like picking up sheet masks as my introductory product to a new line. I think it gives a good, low commitment and economical way of testing the waters of a new range. Recently I’ve found myself a new favorite this way. Farmacy, a newer natural brand carried by Sephora that centers it line around a new found strain of Echinacea, has launched …

LA BEAUTY | Nails, Eyebrows, and Korean Spas

You really have the pick of the litter here in LA when it comes to Beauty! This city is packed with nail salons, beauty stores, dry bars, tanning salons, estheticians, colorists, and spas of all kinds. For all price points! If you are into it, LA’s got it, in spades. Here starts my inaugural LA Beauty Favorites post! When it comes to eyebrows, the Benefit store on Third Street is my favorite. I think almost all the staff has waxed this brow of mine by this point. I’ve been going there for years. I’ve deviated a few times to test out other places but I always end up back there. They do a great brow wax, thread, and lash or eyebrow tint. They are good about walk ins, but I also like the ease of their online booking system. The staff there is great fun. Benefit is a pink colored eyebrow mecca. It is crazy the amount of nail salons there are in LA. And I have been disappoint by dozens. My current favorite is Yen’s Nails, also …

The Life. Wedding planning is in full force. We are 6 weeks out from the big day (trying to stay sane here folks!!) Jeff and I just got back from a joint Bachelor/ette party in Seattle. If you like knowing whats going on but don’t have the time or energy to keep up with it all then this is for you! The Watch. It’s been a revolving door of great TV lately. All caught up on Better Call Saul, Daredevil, and Broad City. I’m now currently fixing my eyeballs on Game of Thrones and The Night Manger. Also got myself a new comedy love on youtube. The White Trash Network (I know, hate the name too), these short videos will have you in stitches. Start …

Favorites | April

Here we go again guys! Another month has gone by, so another favorites post and video is due! I was pleasantly surprised that the majority of my April favorites are bargain buys! NEAT. May is already shaping up to be a great month, already a bunch of new products in, adventures documented and DIYs ready to be made, so make sure you are subscribed to my channel! Lots of shit coming your way! This past month I experimented with contouring for the first time. I pick up the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette, and the new Contour Brush from E.L.F. Both made this total noob get better faster, with out breaking the bank on practice shots. I’ve been slowly trying out the Glossier product range, and the Milky Jelly Cleanser is definitely my favorite out of the bunch. It’s a nice mild cleanser, that does a nice job of cleaning the skin with out drying you out. Expect a full Glossier post in the very near future. Gotta give a hand to NYX Soft Matte …
